School of Theatre at Oklahoma City University:

The School of Theatre at OCU is one of the fastest growing theatre departments in the US, having recently tripled its faculty and quintupled its student population to 200 full-time students. The School offers a BA in Theatre and Performance, plus two BFA degrees, in Acting and Design and Production. TheatreOCU presents minimum of 4 main stage productions as well as seven Stage II productions, as well as numerous student directed plays and readings. In addition to 200 theatre majors, the performing arts at Oklahoma City University include the Wanda L. Bass School of Music with 350 students and The Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment with over 200 majors. Qualifications:

The candidate must have previous experience teaching university-level courses in either acting; movement; directing; applied theatre; and/or voice for the actor. A master’s degree in theatre is highly sought after, with preference given to those who hold degrees in theatre performance or pedagogy.

Job Duties:

Adjunct Teaching Responsibilities may include one or more of the following:

  • Conduct classes
  • Evaluate student learning, skills, and abilities; and maintain records of such evaluations
  • Adhere to all policies within the Oklahoma City University Faculty Handbook
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

The work requirements for this position include teaching during daytime and some evening hours depending upon the needs of the department and its students. All classes are held on the OCU campus.
