Position Summary:

The Department of Accounting in the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University is accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Accounting beginning August of 2024. The rank will depend upon the qualifications of the finalist.

The Meinders School of Business has AACSB accreditation and emphasizes a balance between quality teaching, research, and service. The Department of Accounting offers a BBA in Accounting as well as an MS in Accounting (CPA track and STEM track).  Most accounting graduates are placed in the Big 4, large regional accounting firms or in large corporations in the Oklahoma City area. 

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be academically qualified per AACSB accreditation standards. Candidates should have a PhD or DBA from an AACSB-accredited program with evidence of or potential for high-quality teaching and scholarship. ABDs will be considered but must complete PhD by August 2024 for appointment at the Assistant Professor level.

Preferred Qualifications

A professional designation, such as CPA, CMA, CIA, or CFE, is desired.

VITA experience is preferred. 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate-level accounting courses. The normal teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester for faculty engaged in research.
