Position Summary:
The Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University invites applications for the nine-month, tenure track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Voice to begin August 12, 2024. All voice types are encouraged to apply. The Bass School of Music has an award-winning Opera and Music Theater Company which produces a six-show season (three operas and three musicals) and boasts alumni performing on Broadway, in regional theaters, and in major opera houses across the world. Our alumni include Tony and Emmy Award winners. The Bass School of Music’s Opera/Music Theater area includes eight full-time and 8 eight adjunct voice faculty, four vocal coaches, two stage directors, two resident music directors, and two choir directors. Interested faculty can also participate in the Bass School of Music’s summer program housed in Arezzo, Italy. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the school’s assessment program and in student recruitment and retention efforts for the school and the university, advise students, and will participate in faculty meetings and other university service endeavors. Effective teaching, scholarship and service are required for promotion.
