Position Summary:

Coordinate all operations including maintenance for the Bass School of Music & School of Theatre. Manage and maintain all aspects of recording for the Bass School of Music. In close consultation with University IT coordinate all aspects of technology used in the Bass School of Music and School of Theatre.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience in music facility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • audio-visual/computer facility preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Manage and maintain in close consultation with University IT the technology used by the Bass School of Music and School of Theatre.
  • Manage the technology requirements of programs and concerts.
  • Assists faculty, staff, and students with routine computer/audio video needs including basic instructions for operating systems.
  • Manage all recording aspects of the Bass School of Music including streaming of major ensemble concerts.
  • Manage video signage and key card access system.
  • Supervise, schedule, and train assigned student staff.
  • Manage the maintenance of the performance venues and related equipment therein.
  • Manage the maintenance of all studios, classrooms, and public areas of the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Building, the Bass Music Center, and the Gold Star Building.
  • Maintain lights in Petree Recital Hall.
  • Oversee daily operation of the Bass Music Center, the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Building, and theatre spaces in the Gold Star Building. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of music and music performance.
  • Proficiency or ability to gain proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office, Pagemaker, Filemaker, Pages, Room Wizard, Pro Logic, Pro Tools, and other audio software.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of audio-visual, video, and lighting equipment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily indoors, but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or off campus.
  • Incumbent will be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones and office machines.
