Position Summary: 

The Department of Biology in the Petree College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma City University is seeking for one year, non-tenure track Visiting Biology Professor whose innovative and creative instruction will complement and enhance the department’s pre-health profession related programs. 

While area of specialization is open, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, and/or Genetics who can complement the pre-health profession related curriculum.   

The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their teaching, scholarship, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The Department of Biology is interested in candidates who understand the barriers facing different groups of students and are passionate about helping all students meet their academic and career goals.   

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled, with a start date of August 2026.  Finalists will be expected to present an engaging teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.  

Qualifications  

A terminal degree in a field closely related to the discipline and previous college teaching experience is preferred.  Compensation, rank, and length of tenure track will be commensurate with experience.  

Duties  

Duties of this position includes teaching 24 credit hours annually active participation in departmental, college, and university service, active participation in the department's assessment program, and participation in student recruiting and retention efforts for the college and the university.
